I'm trying to add a patch 1

I am assuming that you know how to gain access to pdt area. If not I would not recommend that you perform the patch loading. I am also assuming that you know how to send the patch file into the "c:u/patch" directory.
pdt> pload p10000_1.ssc
Once the patch has been loaded you will be provided a patch handle number...

If you are not familiar with pdt, I agree with HASAGO (hands off).
But depending on the SW level (rels 4.XX on wards) of your pbx there is the possibilty to use dependency lists instead. This is kind of script based patching (done in overlay 143).
In order to proceed with the dep list you have to request them through your nortel contact. You should also request the manual how to work with dep lists.
