Im not sure if its MySQL doing this

Hi. I have no idea why but when my clients type a £ into the form the database returns it as a little ?...

I have no idea what this is.

I have tried replacing it with CF but I do not, and cannot find the char code for it...

Anyone ever seen this before?

Its an extended ascII character code 156 £. Looks like a european currence symbol (English) for the English Pound.
