We have the weirdest thing happen. Before I was employed at this company they didn't have a receptionist... So to combat that they set it up so that 3 phones rang and they shared the load of answering the phones. Now! we have a full time receptionist but the phones still ring over at the other 3 people and they want that to stop. Also, when the receptionist misses the call the called is sent the VoiceMail box of one of the 3 people who want nothing to do with answering the incoming line. I have no idea where to begin to find out how to stop it. I have access to CallPilot and Business Element Manager. I hope this is the right forum I just got told to leave the last one I posted in...Sorry

That's when you call in someone who is trained on Norstar equipment.
 
the other Moore is right, find an experienced vendor to help you understand what's happening however all 3 phones ring because they are programmed to, and the message is taken in the lowest numbered extension that has a mailbox and has cfwd no answer to the vm dn set. Nothing is random in phone systems they are computers after all. If you would like a central receptionist make sure the lines only ring on that phone, send that phone no answer to vm and assign it (most likely 221) to mailbox 100 (the general mailbox). If you would like an Automated attendant either immediately or after no answer from the receptionist then you need to find a vendor because the setup is far too complicated to walk you through online.
 
You need to either take the lines off or make them appear only on the 2 phones you don't want to ring.
