I'm new to Crystal Reports and would like to know how to take the value of a formulated field on a main report and put it into another field on a subreport.

Its probably really really easy!!

Right click the subreport and select your formula field as a linking field. Untick the box suggesting that you want to filter the subreport data based on the formula.

In the subreport, the field will be available as a parameter field. Steve Phillips, Crystal Consultant

What you are asking to do - make a subreport of a subreport - is not possible. Crystal does not allow a subreport to call another subreport.

If you want to make the value of one report a subreport of another report (not of another subreport) go to the report where you want the value to appear and click Insert-Subreport, then drag the subreport object (aka the value you want to appear) to the proper place on the main report. If there are links between the main report and the subreport fill them in.

If this does not answer your question, please provide more details. Software Support for Sage Mas90, Macola, Crystal Reports, Goldmine and MS Office

Sorry forgot to mention, I am using Version 6
