Okay I know you guys are gonna think this is way simple but it baffles me!

Situation Bitmap of power plant
scene : flow of various things thru tubes and pipes

Problem I have the flow moving (follows guide thru pipe multiple times) But what I would like it to do is on starting the animation a sample is drawn from the source Stack pipe and follows guide to the measurment instrument (got that) but as it passes thru pipe it fills that part of pipe and previous sections of pipe as it passes.

Note different things pass thru these same pipes at different times (got that).

I probally am confusing everyone but if you understand and can give me a hint of what I need to do let me know please.

Yeah! You confused me at least! Maybe it's because I'm so old!
Did you upload what you have now? Can we have a look at it?
1 picture = thousand words!

;-)

You mean like water being soaked up a tree trunk and filling each branch as it passes on its journey to the top of the tree?

Your pipe flow could be created using a simple rectangle following a 'guide'. On top of this you have a 'mask' which is actually a movie-clip superimposed on everything else (see one of my previous posts).

Use the GetProperty action to set off other movie-clips in each of the other pipes as the main movie-clip (pipe filler) passes.

Shouldn't be too difficult. Will post an example tomorrow (friday GMT) when my system is fixed.
