Does anyone have an updated nvmppp2.inf file for the direct serial connection. I upgraded my lptop to XP and I am having troubles. A setup guide wouldn't hurt.

I was told that you need NRU 9.1 for XP. I just got my new laptop today and will be setting up.

Can anyone verify what NRU is needed with XP?

Thanks,
Jeff

I have run 9.0 on XP with no problems. I have had problems connecting to a pre-MICS 6.0 with 9.1.

9.0 works on XP very well, So does 9.1, you need 9.1 on mics 6.0 and up. The Problem I am having is setting up the direct serial connection on XP. The original nvmppp2.inf file is included on the 4.0 nam CD, As well as a readme for setting it up on 95 or 98. Does anyone have the instructions to set up a direct serial connection to the nam using XP?

My nvmppp2.inf is dated 1997, so probably won't help you.
I have not run XP. Is it different in setting up a serial connection from Win2k of Win95,98? There is an old Nortel ITAS TIP 170 that covered setup quite good, but maybe not much would translate to XP. I have the TIP in hardcopy only, but you could probably pull softcopy from Nortel.

The setup in XP is considerably different and as of yet I haven;t been able to make it work. I get the same error everytime, It say's modem error "opening port... error 692, there was a hardware error in the modem or other connecting device. I may have use old laptop with 98 for now.

As far as i know after recently installing NU9 on win2000 pro, it gave me the option when i downloaded the thing to pick from two options one being 98,ME,2000etc.. and the other being XP. So one would think that the version you have is not in the correct format.

Someone I know had that problem. i can't remember how he fixed it. i will see if he remembers.
