Im im looking for information on what all is needed to install paging on a nortel pbx. do i need a psaging card, also does this system have to have paging in the package of fetures, anything i need woul help.Im an old nortel tech its probably been 30 + years since I have worked on this stuff

Hello James

What type of Nortel system do you have?. Is it an Option 11 or a Norstar / BCM system?.
I recall that the Option 11 type platform needed a 4 port XFEM card that we used in the UK and I think the Norstar supported an external 2 wire port but it had it's own built in version.

On Meridian you can do a paging trunk on a regular NT8D14 trunk card.

also, what is the model of paging unit you are using? Some have different setup instructions on trunk type, yada. If non-IP PBX version, it should be no problem. I did have issues connecting UNIV trk card on a Media Gateway for paging, but I think there are patches that were created to resolve this.
