ok, i use winroute pro at home. I connect to the internet using a Windows 98Se box. The other computer is mine, and its an Xp machine. I want to Set up the Xp machine as a vpn server. I added an incomming connection and set it to use pptp. I have mapped the port 1723 tcp on winroute and pointed it to the xp machines Ip. I have clicked "allow users to connect to this blah etc"

I can connect to the vpn 127.0.0.1 but when i try from the other computer or get a friend to try get in it wont work.
Error 800.. I have heard that theres some problems with using Nat with pptp, but i dont know whats wrong. I also dont have the Xp firewall setup.

Btw, im using no-ip.com's dynamic Ip client, and i have a hostname set up. So im typing in the hostname as the ip to connect to. But it was never working before i set up the dynamic ip stuff..

Please help me

Have you created the port mapping for PPTP as well it is not UDP/TCP it is specific to VPN but is supported by Winroute PRO.

I have upgraded to xp with winroute pro for xp when i start the eng it blocks my connection. winroute worked fine with me but not with xp. can any one tell me what i am missing.

thanks

james
