I'm having a problem trying to FTP a file from one server to another. Once the file get to about 2Gig, I get an exception and the ftp dies. Also, if I compress the file, ftp it over, and uncompress it. Once the uncompress gets to about 2GIG, it also dies. There is plenty of space on my target server, and my AIX admin is stumped. Any ideas?

Unless your file systems are Large File Enabled
you have a 2 GB max on file size. This is the first
place I would look.

Use lsfs -q [filesystem]

Check the flag called bf.

If it is false you can not exceed 2 Gb on that filesystem.....

Hope this helps.

perfect answer!!

if ur destination filesystem is not large files enabled FS then it wont allow u to create FS bigger than 2 GB.
so check it.and if not u hav to recreate tthe FS with large files enabled FS .
