I'm working on my moms web site. She's starting her buissness for selling silk flowers. I want to have her pictures of some of the flowers she's done. Now, I want to know, if anyone knows how to have the picture zoom in and out at comand from the viewer on the site it self. What I'm thinking of doing is making the page, and making the pictures tumbnails, click on the pistuer and take it to tha full screen version but I want to let the person zoom in on the parts of the movie they want.... You know what I'm talking about? They are digial pictures from a digial camrea so I'm sure you can zoom in and not have that much of a problem... I just want to know if it can be done in flash if not does anyone know what I'll need? Thanks..... Melocco...

P.S.
I've been under custidy by my neiborhood redneck police officers... I was running around in a dress and flashing people and saying that I'm starific.... LOL

I'll post the CAD fla in a while, just changing the graphic on it cos its 1.3Mb and that would take me all night to upload.

ps, you don't need two copies of the picture, you only need one + a duplicate movie-clip action.

sorting it out for you now

ok Sam,

here's an updated version of the zoom-in-window fla. I've added a control clip which sorts out the positioning of the zoomed mc. I've also utilised duplication to ensure that all three elements work hand-in-hand (ie: the original movie-clip, the zoomed movie-clip, and the mask which hides the zoomed version.

If at first you don't see anything on the stage, get your brain in gear, cos the clips must be kept away from the main stage in order that the duplication placements work in the correct manner, so just scroll down. The control clip is located above the main stage.

I'm currently in the process od creating the rollover zoom version, so watch this space.

Thanks.... I'm going to try to work with it tonight. I should have the pictures ready by then... Just out of curiosidy,(I'm at work now) Can I add a stop action to it in the begining? That way I could have a button that could start. I don't want to have the peron that's coming to it have to see the zoomed in version. Also like the other zoom you did, Can I have it where they could zoom in closer? Instead of having them only have one level of magnification? Thanks again Dav... You need to keep on teaching us, the ones that don't know about it. Thanks again.... And thanks old, for finding what Dav. has done. LOL Well got to go, I'm suppost to be working LOL LOL LOL

yes you can have a button which activates it.....yes you can increase the magnification.

hey Sam, I started converting the CAD post then got distracted and forgot about it, so I'll post it tomorrow also.

No probs. Thanks again dav... I understand about distractions.... I've caused more then I've had lately... LOL Melocco........

That's and easy one. I had the same problem. Here's what I did.
Create a new object and put the picture you want to work with in it.
There's an example named "Pan Zoom" in Help->Samples. Copy the buttons at the bottom of the movie (the little cross with the "+" and "-" in the middle). Paste them in your movie in a separate layer. Bring the movie you've just created to the scene. Select the movie and using the "instance" panel name your movie "target_item". Run your movie.

Hope it helps.

Hello messieur Sam, Dave and Old

Sam here is a site that uses the "zoomification" method in a pretty elegant setting. I thought it might be interesting for you to take a look at it. Besides...it's on Gustav Klimt works, so what more can you ask for in life?
'(Sam when you re in it, pick the painting you want to see and then use the magnifying glass. You can carry it over any part of the painting)
Now Sam, promise me something ok? please? promise me that you will never, never, never ever spell "guess" geuss Ok? Promise? ;-)

Patricia

Thanks for the site Patricia. I love all those painting on these sites. The magification is exactly what I want. That way they can see the Picture and if they want to zoom in on some part to see something they can.. Thanks again Dav....

P.S.
Patricaia, If I was to spell every thing right then I would be like everybody else right. Hence the Melocco instead of Meloco LOL Just joking... Thanks again though... Hey I've got to be different. At least that's what I'm going to tell the judge in court....

Is this the end of this thread then Sam, or do you want me to post the window-zooming fla later on ? dave@davdesign.co.uk

Thought you might say that, it doesn't resemble the help-zoom at all anyway (????)
