Im a newbie how do I create a text opening

I want to have a blackscreen with white letters and logos showing text for a few seconds before a scene how do I do this? I am new to this forum so if my question is to beginner or whatever Im sorry let me know and Ill stop posting. Possibly point me in the direction of a FAQ or beginner guide the manual is a bit advanced for me.

I personally like to use Adobe Photoshop to create my titles and logos. The native .psd format is easily imported into Premiere. Make sure the aspect ratio of your title file is the same as the video your editing.
