Hi there,

I am trying to produce a graphic that is exactly 4 x 5 inches, to be delivered to customers as a PDF.

I create it in Illustrator (version 10) and it's great. Prints perfectly.

However, when I save as PDF (or print to postscript and distill it) then print the resulting PDF, it is no longer 4 x 5, it is somewhat smaller....about 3.75 by 4.5.

The proportions are correct, but it has shrunk!!!!!

Has anyone ever seen this, and solved it?

I have verified that I am not setting any print commands to print at 90% or anything like that.

Any help or suggestion would be great!

Thanks!

This may not be the answer, but are you printing from illustrator or acrobat? It sounds like you're printing from acrobat. Check your print settings in Acrobat (shrink to fit, enlarge to fit, etc) and see if that addresses the problem.

Hi,

Yes, I have made sure that no shrinking is occuring during the print (from Acrobat). All print setting are normal.

I belive it is happening during the process of creating the PDF.
Others have seen this happen, but can't recall the solution...

It's driving me insane.

When you print to file, are you choosing the same paper size as the original AI artboard size?
