I have been having trouble getting Illustrator.eps files that contain linked Potoshop files with spot colour to separate to my imagesetter. I always understood that Illustrator .eps files will not accept Photoshop images saved as DCS, even ones saved as a single file. I have a 5 colour photoshop image that needs to be positioned in Illustrator with some Vector art . This is not an issue, but the catch is, I need to be able to import the combined Illustrator file into Quark for ouput. This needs to be an .eps - which doesnt accept DCS??? Is there as SOLUTION or am I mistaken regarding the DCS images linked in Illustrator.

Bit beyond me, but couldn't you drop the Illustrator work into Photoshop and work it that way?

I tried to use a DCS file in illistrator, and it won't let me embed it. I assume that this means an EPS out of illistrator would prove difficult. I also understand that you probably do not want to go the other way and bring vector art into photoshop. Have you tried a monotone, if you're only using one spot color that might work, or, a colorized tiff?
Just throwin' out some ideas. I haven't tried them myself.
Hope that helps.
