Hi

I am using Illustrator CS3 on a mac running leopard.
Have been creating graphs, esp bar/line charts that use left and right axis. All fine.

But when i try and change the settings on an axis (scale, tick marks) - via clicking legend with group selection tool - then pop-up window accepts changes but then seems to completely ignore the changes. So I seem frustratingly unable to alter the axis settings.

Any guidance most welcomed.
Likewise if there are any recommendable online resources that explain the illustrator cs3 graph functionality in more detail than the, very basic, in-built help facility then i would be delighted to hear.

regards, ross

...running same here leopard with CS3 13.02, and don't have the same issue, if not done so already then try getting up to date, download from adobe:

...if you have up to date and illusttrator is behaving oddly you can trash or move the preference file to see if that helps...

...as far as tutorials go, arguably the best source is lynda.com, but will cost a few pennies:

thanks, but i worked it out through trial and error.
i had not appreciated that changing axis settings (min, max, ...) need to be done via Selection tool, but that graph type (line, bar, ..) need to be done through Group [Direct] Selection tool.

i had been trying to alter axis settings through Group Selection rather than Selection and this was unsuccessful, indeed it had no effect whatsoever.

in any case, i now seem to be able to fiddle with graph settings as necessary.

regards, ross
