Hi all,
I'm having a problem with some large Illustrator files, but I'm not 100% sure if Illustrator is the problem or it's something else.
I've created a series of files on the Mac with large CMYK images placed in them, both as Illustrator 9 files and Illustrator 9 eps files.
I copied them to a network drive and tried to open them on the PC but neither Illustrator 9 or CS for PC opens the file. I get no error message or any other indication of what the problem is.
I thought maybe it didn't recognise the file format, but if I double click on the file from Windows Explorer it launches Illustrator (CS) but doesn't open the document.
I tried copying the files to the local drive but still have the same issue. I thought the files may have become corrupted in the transfer but I can open the files directly from the network drive from the Mac.
Both Illustrator 9 and CS on the PC can open earlier versions of the files (with low res RGB images). The Mac opens all files okay and has significantly less memory and processing power than the PC.
Sorry if I'm missing something really basic, but I'm starting to panic as I need to get these files to the printers within the next 12 hours.
Any help or suggestions appreciated.
Jane
