I've dealt with this problem long enough and I've run out of ideas. EVERY single time I access IE 6 gives me an Illegal Operation and shuts down.

No other site that I am aware of causes this problem.

Specifically:
EXPLORER caused an invalid page fault in
module <unknown> at 0000:38373032.

Just tonight I reinstalled IE6 w/SP1 and Direct X 9. I'm running Win 98. Cookies are set to medium. I've tried listing as an exception to always allow cookies but stills crashes.

I have a firewall in Linksys router. Not running Norton or Kaaza.

One entry in HOSTS.SAM file for local host.

BHODemon found 3 files: AMCIS2,DLL, ACROIEHELPER.OCX, and googletoolbar.dll - all are still enabled.

This has been going on for the better part of a year. If I started happening suddenly, I have no idea what I might have changed.

Again though, ONLY this web site gives me problems. Any ideas? Thanks!

Disable, better yet - uninstall - the google toolbar.

I disabled Google toolbar and ran AdAware. Adaware found a bunch of stuff (like 30), which I quarantined / removed it all.

Still same problem after I restart.

Please check your pc for something called Comet Cursor. If it's on borad, totally remove it.

I've verified that Comet Cursor is not on the machine.

Anyone else have anything that I can try? Short of reinstalling the OS I have no idea...

Sorry...must have missed you posting back.

First off, start troubleshooting by bringing up your Close Program window and disabling pretty much everything that's running in the background, including your virus software (except systray and explorer). Test and see if this behavior at the web site persists. If it doesn't, one by one enable the progs and thus pinpoint the culprit.
If this doesn't pan out, please check out these articles:

Well, I've tried it all. Closed all the apps, checked for the programs mentioned in the articles, nothing.

The one article I couldn't complete was the one where it told me to add it as a favorite and then clear temporary files. I can't add it as a favorite because I can't even load the page.

I guess my thoughts though are more along the lines of what is nfl.com trying to execute? Is there a java program or something that needs a file that I don't have? Because this does not happen with any other site, what it is about nfl.com that causes this to occur?

There is a bunch of Java code among other things. Do you have any other browsers installed on your system? Have you ever had AOL on your system? The code seems to have different customization depending on what browswer you're using.

Hard to say...I can hit it fine...but, each pc is unique to a greater or lesser degree. Check this though...go to Tools, Internet Options, Settings, View Objects. Look at the Java line. Look ok? If damaged, replace it. Also, try to download the last Java VM ( be told at the site if you already have the latest and greatest.

Good point smah...AOL can really booger things up.

I installed latest java VM.

I checked my system for other browsers and I do have Netscape v6 installed. It opens with no problems.

I removed Netscape, and IE still has same problem.
