My setup I have is NEC Dterm IP ITR-8D & 16D phones, used with MatworX and NEAX 2000 IPS system.

my problem is when I plug any of the old phones in and enter the extension, I get an "illegal len" error and the phone reboots back to the login. I searched the forum for "illegal len" and do not see anything on the topic.

thanks in advance!

Never hit this before. Was the number you are using previously used for an IP phone? If not, my guess is it is programmed onto a physical len and thats why the system won't let you have it!

The extension number you are trying to log in is either already built as a TDM phone, or does not exist.

These old phones that will no longer work, were a part of a bigger system 600 DID's, that has been shrunken down to less than 100 VOIP phones.

How can i wipe out these old phones to remove the old (i think DMR) settings?

Thank you again for your assistance forum!

In order to clear the "Old" data, you must clear the "MAC" Address. When the telephone was originally "Logged-In" the Mac address of the telephone is written into memory. Once the "Mac" is Cleared, you can register telephones. Please identify your PBX Type so that the correct programming procedure can be provided

Sorry- I see you have a NEAX 2000 IPS- I am going to assume you can do CMD Line programming. CMD 1290 + EXT + return will provide the Mac address assigned to the extension. CCC this and write it. BE sure to EC6+1 TO save. Now, when you login-the exension, it will take
