Hi,

I have setup an IIS system and I can see it within the router, but it can not be seen outside the router ie the internet. the IIS is set to public per the instructions on several other forums. I have allowed the router to pass the port 80 to the proper IP adress of the internal computer but it still isn't working properly.

using 192.168.2.6 I can see the website
using the routers IP I also can see the website

others using the routers IP adress can not see the website.

Any ideas would bereally helpful. Thanks

Can you view your web-site from an outside network? Meaning, not from your internal network going out to the internet and attempting to come back in.

I have had issues with some (consumer) routers that do not allow you to go out and come back in.

The ISP blocked the port. It was against the agreement that was signed so I will be changing ISP soon. Thanks for the help. I have a followup question though, I am interested in seting up a mail service locally, can I setup user on IIS? Do I need Exchange or is there a free software that I can use with IIS?

You can't setup mailboxes for users in IIS.
If using Windows 2003 Server, you can use the built in Email services instead of Exchange, but this would be for a small scale implementation.
