Hi,

I had a website setup on iis, just locally for development purposes. Im running Windows XP Pro. The other day I started up, and my local site (localhost) didnt resolve, dns error. So I checked IIS and the 'website' tab on the left is 'gone'.

I did install the ASP.Net framework lately but Im not sure if that is the cause or not. Also I installed .net on my laptop, and IIS on there seems to be fine.

So when I open IIS and click on 'Internet Information Services' on the left, it does nothing, right clicking - selecting connect and entering localhost or the computer name, it gives an error saying 'server execution failed'. So im totally lost, I cant create a website, the old website is gone. And it seems I can do nothing with IIS.

Anyone got any ideas? or experienced the same?
Any replies are much appreciated.

Thanks,

matt.

Hm,... check your network configuration. Don't forget too, that in w2k if there is no link on that network connection the interface is disabled. Gia Betiu

Thanks guys,

My whole system was a bit buggy so I decided to just do a complete format & reinstall of the o/s in the end.

Thanks for your help anyway though, Much Appreciated.

Matt.
