We are hosting several sites on our server, (win 2003 std), and the IIS tree is getting crowded, and the worst thing it is not sorted by anything it seems, so I am having problems finding webs in the tree..

So my question is.... can I do anything to clean up the IIS tree? sort it by letters asc or anything like that?

thx in advance

no you can't, they are in the metabase in the numerical order as they were created.

Good documentation is the key if you expect to get over about 20 virtual hosts on the one server.

So long, and thanks for all the fish.

I have about 40-50 webs...

This kinda s*cks, what when companies are hosting several hundred webs... ah well,, back to the drawing board,, thx guys

When you have lots of webs like you have then a 3rd party tool is your only solution, e.g. nutex on linux etc.

I didn't say it was. What I was suggesting is that you look for other 3rd party tools which will help you manage your multi-web environment, e.g. Hosting Controller, Plesk or Ensim

lol,,, thx man, this was too easy so i couldnt see it..

Gulag... :D
