Hello I use IIS 5.0 w2k server.

all nights my IIS stopped misteriously, I don't know why, I did and update and I reinstalled IIS but nothing happens.

My sites work perfectly when I surf trough it, but all nights the IIS stop. i realize this problems all the mornings when I want to surf on my sites.

where can I find more information about my problem? somebody can help me .??

thanks a lot

Do you have any scheduled tasks that are set to run at night? I have seen this happen with Norton AntiVirus scans amongst other things.

Yes , I have a backup system launched automatically at night, I stopped the scheduling task, but the IIS continues to stop.

any more ideas...

thanks

we need a lot more information

any errors logged ? if so what are they
what OS (NT,2k,2k3,XP) ?
what AV are you running?

the more info about the server and running processes the better

The pbl Is with My IIS , because I ping my IP address and it has a response back..

but any of my sites are reacheable..

bye and thanks for your help

is time requested out..
sorry don't understand this.

I'm not refering to popup dialog boxes for errors. I mean in the event logs.
There simply isn't enough information to work out why it is stopping. There are many possible causes and without some more precise information it will be a guessing game that could go on for some time.

Check the event viewer logs see what time it stops.
Set some recovery options for the This will write a entry to the error log.
Change the time of the AV scan (if running) to during the day so you can see if that causes it.

please install service pack 4 for windows 2000

then , every thing will be o.k

This might not be realted, but I would install URLScan - It's a tool by Microsoft to prevent non legitimate requests / attacks on your scripts. The config file will have to be heavily modified, but MS has a good amount of info on this. Like the others have said check the sys logs also make sure there are not any IP binding errors in IIS.
