I have installed IIS 5.0 on a domain controler (windows 2000) that also runs DNS. I have installed it as an enterprise CA. IIS wont start and shows and error message in the system log:

The World Wide Web publishing service terminated with the following error:
The service can not be started, either because it is disabled or has no enabled devices with it.

Why wont it start?
Thanx in advance

can you post the entire message from event viewer, including the source and event ID

sounds like a corrupt or missing metabase or damaged registry.

try setting the to disabled in the management console. Then setting it back to automatic see if that works, before taking the reinstall route.

So long, and thanks for all the fish.

check if the IP/port combination is in use.

If it is iis wont start a site with same.

try change the port or IP on the website and see if it will start.
