PhpMyAdmin just doesn't seem to work correctly using the
auth_type=http

It prompts for a username and password ... I type it in correctly and it asks immediately again for another username and password. .... does this over and over until I hit cancel and then won't let me into phpMyAdmin.

It works fine when I type in the username and password in the config.inc.php and set the auth_type=config

Any idea????

I'm thinking it's a IIS6 / Windows 2003 thing as I've never had this problem.
I'm using MySQL 4.0.22 and php 4.3.10

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Faithfulman

did you create a user in Win2k3?
the http authentication looks for a username and password that was created in your computer managment/users section.

try this also:

hope this helps a little...

do you have Apache installed also?

No, I'm just using IIS not Apache.
But the http authentication is supposed to be
a username and password for MySQL not to the windows
box.

Works that way on my other servers (non-win2k3)

Anyone got a clue??
