Hi,

I'm having a problem with my IIS. I'm running XP Professional. I've reinstalled the OS and IIS numerous times. There doesn't seem to be any problem with any of the settings or security permissions and all the services are running. I'm just trying to run the default web to make sure that it works. I haven't even installed anything else, just XP and IIS.

If I disconnect from the internet... it works. The second I connect again... doesn't work. It gives me an "500 - Internal Server Error" and when I take off display friendly HTTP Errors I get "Server Error - Bad URL". I've got cable internet and I have the firewall turned off.

If anyone has seen this problem or has an idea of what might be activated when I connect that would interfere with IIS I would greatly appreciate any direction.

Thanks

Try right clicking on ur website.. then go into properties. Go the "Home directory" tab.. then under Application Protection.. set it to low.

See if that helps.

I have same problem. There is one thing to add. The other machines of my home network can work with the IIS on the machine that connected to the Internet.

Thanks lck092580,

I've already tried setting the protection to low... didn't make any difference, but thanks anyway.
