We are hosting a FTP site on IIS 6.0 .When one of our clients (external to our network) it trying to connect to our FTP server and dropping a 7 MB file, they are losing connection with the message "Connection closed by remote host". Our client has tried to drop the file using script as well as manually, both failed with the error "Connection closed by remote host"

Could somebody please help?
Thanks,
Abhishek

IS the client able to establish ftp session or not. You can cehck the ftp logs to see what ip address the client is using to connect to ur ftp server. If ther are no enteries in your ftp logs it mens that client is not at all reaching your ftp server.
In that case you need to check if ur external f/w have got port 21 opened for that cleint access.
Also if you see any hits by that cleint on your ftp server then this problem may be due to NTFS permissions on the cleints folder or time out period specied in your ftp server properties.
