Can anyone tell me why my IIS logged time suddenly jumps from 16:03 to 21:00 in the space of a few seconds (i.e. its not that time yet as I look at the log, yet the log is saying it's now after 9pm).

This happens on a daily basis.

Thanks in advance.
Gary

Any ideas?

I can think of 3 things in relation to your problem:

1: A virus.

2: You could have been hacked (it's not unusual for hackers to mess about with the logs, to cover their actions).

3: Someone in your network might have done soemthing, and is trying to cover his tracks by erasing some log entries.

I also have a IIS 5.0 log problem, but with me, things are a bit more regular, as all the entries are recorded with exactly less 1 hour.

Hi,

thanks for the reply, don't think that was it though, connection has only one machine, the only users are myself and my wife. As for Virus, I've anti-virus software which is set to check for updates daily, and a firewall.

The problem seems to happen every day at the same time... :-(

Very Confused.

Gary.
