I have strange problem on an Ultra 10.

Every time I reboot, I have to type in:

ifconfig hme0:34 <ipaddress> netmask <mask> up

If I run ifconfig -a

It lists them all ok up to number 33.
How do I ensure it does this on startup?

It used to come up ok, so it must be something i've done.

Tia,

We had the same problem with Ultra 5's. Are you running Solaris 8? We had to put the ip in the hostname.hme0 file to correct this problem.

Above is the way it works now under Sol8. You have to edit these /etc/hostname.hme0 and so on files. Another phenomenon is the disappearing of driver_aliases and driver_classes upon reboot... Make sure you have those backed up - I wasted 2 hours debugging an E450.
