If a .iso image is ftp across to the sever H/d's.
How can it be run from there or is there a need to burn it to CD first.
I have burn the file to CD, but if a ls is done, it says not found.. but doing a ls command on the cdrom, it shows <filename>.iso.. what am I doing wrong??

Looks like you coppied the iso image to the CD, you need to create cd from the iso image. There should be something like that in your cd burning screen.

You don't have to burn it to a cdrom. I posted a FAQ under the solaris section called "How do I mount an ISO image under solaris?"
