Often a pop-up blocker causes this. But see this thread for several alternative explanations: thread608-199497 your version of IE current with all patches and hotfixes? It might benefit you to spend some time at the Windows Update site.
Bcastner--that advice is very sound--so many times people turn of their Auto-Updates for the sake of Memory saving. However, they usually forget about the Critical Updates that are sitting there that might coreect a lot of "starnge" happenings
