IE7 can not display .png files instead red x is displayed

Hi,

I have windows server 2003 sp1 and this is my Terminal Server. I m facing very strange problem, only myself (non-administrator account) can view .png files in IE7, whereas all other users cannot view .png files, even for administrator account it is not displaying .png files.

1) I have compared my Tool - Internet Options - Advanced settings and they are matching with other users.
2) Uninstalled IE7, restart server and then fresh install IE7, still have same problem.
3) Installed latest security updates for IE7, still didn't worked.

Kindly help me to fix this issue, just frustated, almost spend 3 days to find the solution. I don't understand why Microsoft makes things so complicated.

Is this terminal server a part of a domain? Are there any group policies being enforced on either the users, or computer?

Hi,

The link you have provided has solution for XP & Vista. I m using Windows Server 2003, Is anyone aware of how to fix this issue, I will greatly appreciate your help.

Essentially, Windows 2003 version of IE is the same as XP/Vista. Have you tried the solution?

Installing/Un-installing IE under a Terminal services environment is a pain. You have indicated that your non-administrative account can view the .png files. Sounds like only your profile has the necessary information to support viewing .PNG files.

Take a look at this note and compare the registry settings under HKEY_CURRENT_USER to yours
