I have google set as my homepage on IE7 running XP_Pro SP2. The icon or the (favicon) the icon for identified websites for google got corrupted somehow and now where I click on Google a different icon for Google comes up instead of the Colored G. Does anybody have any suggestions about how to fix this? Almost all the other website icons are the universal MS e, although a few have they own icon.

I have struggled with the above problem for a week. I have been searching the Internet for suggestions and decided I would enter it into the forum. As soon as I entered it into the forum, it was resolved!!!(???) Don't ask me how or why because I haven't a clue but it is now working properly. Sorry for an errant question.

This happens from time to time. IE7 handles favicons somewhat differently than previous versions. One of the things that it does is to refresh them from the appropriate servers every now and then. So, yes, they will eventually get automagically fixed.
