One of our users is trying to view a web page but when he types the address in and and the page opens the page is just garbage full of random characters like squares, percentage and plus signs.

Like when you open a word file and the file is not supported.

The machine is running windows 2000 and Internet Explorer version 6 SP1.

All the other machines open this web page fine.

Any help more than welcome.

Thanks.

Check one of your other machine's IE Security settings (tools->internet options->security) Sounds like maybe the web page your user wants to browse may have an Active dll embedded in it and you need to turn on activex controls. Also check under tools->Advanced-> Enable 3rd party extenions.

I have checked both of the above possible solutions and still the same.

I can access the web page if I log in as my self.
I can also access sub pages of the home page logged in as the user that cannot access the home page.

Any more suggestions welcome.

Thanks
Marzy
