I'm new to IE and have just started using IE6. In Netscape there is an text/ascii file 'News.rc' which contains a list of the newsgroups that you have subscribed to read, and the status (read/unread etc...). I would like to know if there is something similar in IE6. I've looked for some sort of file in and around the IE directory & windows directories and cant find anything (using XP pro).

any help appreciated... Glen

Short answer is no, internet explorer does not read newsgroups. MS's solution is to use Outlook Express for newsgroups, which I.M.H.O. sucks at the task. Of course you can read google groups and others with the browser but...

Your better off with a dedicated news reader. There are several good free ones around, Free Agent, Nxpress, Gravity, X-News for example.

Woof!
