We are rolling out an IE5 package, however we have a failure rate of around 20% which is unacceptable.<br>
<br>
The problem seems to be caused by Protected Storage and the following error messages appear:<br>
<br>
ProtectedStorage error: 5, OpenSCManager failed<br>
ProtectedStorage error: 203, Install Service failed<br>
<br>
This is combined with a kernel32.dll error on the workstation. Any ideas folks?

How did you create the app that is being distributed? Are you using the IEAK? <p> <br><a href=mailto: oneworld@goes.com> oneworld@goes.com</a><br><a href= > </a><br>

My company want to do IE 5.5 roll out too
But I don't have any chance to get IEAK customization code.
There are alot of error at Microsoft IEAK registration page.

Any idea where I can get the code?

You can go to the MSoft IEAK site, go to the licensing & registration page, you can register as a corporation, there's the usual legal mumbo-jumbo cause you're repackaging msoft's stuff, and they give you a code that allows you to do distributions internal to your organization. We've got an enterprise license & I still had to go get one.
