Hi there,
Very new to ISA server, not even used Proxy 2.0 before. Installation has gone ok, and it sort of works except....

When a user launches their browser they are prompted for their username and password. I have set the authentication mode to be intergrated, but to be honest it does the same no matter which method i try.

The ISA server is a windows 2000 box running in a mixed mode domain, I thought that it would identify the user from the windows 2000 domain controller ?!

Domain controller is running as the Active Directory 'master?'.

Have tried IE5 and 6 with same results.

Any ideas gratefully received !

Thanks for reading

You didnt say if the users were using Windows 2000 Pro or Windows 98 or some other OS.
But yes normally IE authenticates with ISA server automatically. The only time users get the logon box come up is when they dont have access to that web site and you havent set ISA to redirect to another site when they attempt to access something they dont have access to.

Hi msherry,

probably the IE clients are not configured to use the ISA as web proxy server. If that is the case the http redirector in ISA (in default configuration) will send the http traffic automatically to the web proxy, but... the downsize is that all authentication will be lost (the web proxy sees now only anonymous users).

Hope this helps...
