IE opens links in folders in the links bar in the first window opened!

Meaning, I have 2 IE windows open, and I have links in the Links Toolbar nested in folders. When I open one of the links in a folder in the Links Toolbar, the link open not in the current window I am working in and want it to open it. But the first IE window that was opened. Not matter how many IE windows I have open, they all open the links in the first window. Links not in folders work fine, or if I open them from the Favorites menu or sidebar it works as normal.

This is happening on Windows 2000 with IE 6.

I had found an MS KB article, that basicaly said they knew about it but had no fix.

Any one have any ideas?

Annoying isn't it! I am not certain (yet) how to get it to open in the same window but for now what I have done is go into TOOLS - INTERNET OPTIONS - ADVANCED and uncheck the option "Reuse Windows for launching shortcuts".

It opens a new window but at least it doesn't change the previous window which is more important to me. joegz

I also am annoyed by this. I get around it by dragging the link to the address line. This stops it but it is annoying.
I guess it is to do with the window handle I mean they always go to the parent handle.
