When going to any site that has Real Audio content (don't have to try to play the audio, just go to the web page) IE hangs. I've uninstalled all Real Audio programs and even tried deleting all the RAxxx.xxx files from the windows/system directory, but no help.

Try to download and reinstall Real audio player. It may solve your problem. I think that when you uninstall real player, you didn't clear the "plugin link" in IE so, when ie opens a page with real audio oin it, it associates it with real audio plugin that doesn't exist anymore. Water is not bad as long as it stays out human body ;-)

Targol, there in lays the catch22, if I try to go to the Real Audio site the browser hangs when loading the home page, so I can't even re-install.

An hint, try to set all security permissions for ie to disabled except download permissions. May be this could prevent IE form hanging before you can download real player. When download will be complete, set your security back to what it was. Water is not bad as long as it stays out human body ;-)
