c:\documents and settings\username\favorites is the default location
but... you can chage it
The easiest way to change it is using TweakUI.
On our home computer my wife likes to use my favorites so I set both to c:\documents and settings\All Users\favorites but not my sons and the visitor account who still has theirs in the default location.
I also know of some who move he documents and favorites set in a seperate location that is more easily backed up.
