OS: Windows ME
CPU/Ram: Celeron 633 + 316MB RAM
My pc is perfect after connecting to a DSL modem (with a Linksys network card). However, after installing a Microsoft MN500 wireless router in between the modem and my pc with cables (another laptop is connected wirelessly and that laptop works well), my IE/netscape always hang after opening, i.e., most of the time, they don't appear after I open them, sometimes, it appears (without the buttons etc) and hangs. It never works. However, if I remove the cable and reboot, it is perfect again. After I plug in the cable again, it fails again. Besides, "explorer.exe" also often hangs (the toolbar at the bottom freezes).
I re-installed IE, and even used "system restore" back to the checkpoint just after I installed the network card and drivers, it still has the same problem. I can use dialup successfully, however.
some more information:
I tried the following:
first, unplug the cable, then reboot, then use dial-up, and yes, IE, etc works perfectly (because it is not connected to the router before reboot), then I stop my dial-up, and plug in the cable, then every thing seems fine although it is still unstable sometimes (explorer or IE will hang (not responding)).
Really what is the problem? I don't want to repeat the above steps every time I reboot my pc.
Thanks for any help.
