One of my users had been using spyadware and he updated it then removed it since did not like new version and now IE does not come up at all.

Netscape does work but we have stuff written to use IE, since his machine is XP we can not fully remove IE and re-install like when nt was used!?

How might we repair or re-install with out re-imaging!?

Thanks!

I do not see that option with IE 6??

Maybe I can un-install back to IE 5 then use it!?

How to Reinstall or Repair Internet Explorer and Outlook Express in Windows XP

Q318378

Yup, you're right. My bad.
Look in your Add/Remove Programs window. If IE shows up there, highlight it and select Remove. One of the three options posed you will be Repair.
If IE doesn't show up in the Add/Remove Programs windowm, you could try this suggestion:

How to Reinstall or Repair Internet Explorer and Outlook Express in Windows XP (Q318378)

You can reinstall IE in Windows XP by clicking Start, Run and entering the following command:

rundll32.exe setupapi,InstallHinfSection DefaultInstall 132 c:\windows\inf\ie.inf

(where c: is your Windows drive).

You will need to have your XP CD available. If you re-install remember to update it.

Using SFC /Scannow at the command prompt will help in repairing IE.
