IE Crashes when I Type

IE comes up and goes to home page, but when I try to type anything in the address bar, nothing types, it freezes and then it tries to send an error report, then closes to the desktop. Any ideas.

I have no solid answers, but I have questions and suggestions ;-)

Does it do this every time?
What version of IE are you using?
You might try clearing your History, Temp Internet files, and Autocomplete.
Have you run an updated anti-virus program?

Some installs of IE will allow a repair install.
Hope yours is one.
What OS do you run and what version of IE?

I'm running IE 6.0 with sp1 installed on XP Home Edition. And no it does not happen all the time. Sometimes it works fine. If it works during a specific reboot it seems to keep working but if I start from a cold boot and it doesn't then it wont work again until I try another cold reboot, sometimes several attempts.

It was happending before and after a complete format and reinstall of the OS. I have a broadband connection up all the time and Netscape & MSN explorer has not had the problem.

The only other problem I have, which may be related, is that I continually lose my profile through corruption of some sort.
