Whenever I start IE, my home page changes to search.net or something similar. Also, IE will launch on its own and direct me to porn sites. If I click to close, more sites launch. I downloaded Hijack this and here is my log script. I already went through this once and deleted all of the files found with new home/search pages but when I closed IE and reopened, they were there again. I have also run spybot, ad-aware, trojan hunter. Same problem persists. What can I do?

Did you try scanning your comp using ad-aware and spybot, and having it fix whatever it finds?

lullysing,
Your question is answered in the original post.

I wish I knew more about hijack this logs to help you, but I dont. The best I can do is

That thread mentions the office hta file I see in your listing as a problem. Also I dont see cwshredder on the list of stuff you've tried. For lack of other suggestions at this point, you might try it.

There is a forum in tek-tips called General Security Discussion that a lot of people post their hijack logs and get help...

Blue [dragon]

If I wasn't Blue, I would just be a Dragon...

I have had two computers this month with hijacked IE. Even after running Spybot, AVG antivirus, deleting regsitry items unique to the different hijack trojans, IE was fudged beyond repair. Installing Mozilla helped me gain internet access in both cases (2 different trojans on the 2 machines) and yet google was blocked in both cases.

The answers was to back up files manually (not using MS back-up because that would potentially backup the trojan and settings, too) and then a format and clean install of the OS.

In both cases it took about 3 hours of noodling to track down the culprit trojan programs, uninstall them, delete registry keys, all without access to the net other than thru their hijacked browser which would give a page not found for any website that might give a clue how to defeat their nefarious programs.

When in doubt, deny all terms and defnitions.

Thanks for that link! CSShredder was a new one on me, looks like it would have come in handy last week, though!

When in doubt, deny all terms and defnitions.

If you look at the forums at tomcoyote you'll see cwshredder mentioned a lot. Many times the folks there will ask posters to run it first and then repost their hijack this logs for analysis.
