Guys,

My Internet Exporer 8 is not being able to make backups of the 3300. It seems that it doesn't transfer the backup file from the 3300 to my laptop. It never gives an error.

It works from any other laptop.

I have reinstalled IE and it keeps not making backups.

Any ideas?

Regards,

Daniel

Could be a disabled Downloads security settings in IE as well.
From IE, in Tools/Internet Options/Security, select the appropriate zone and go into Custom Levels. Check if settings under Downloads are as it should. Those can prevent file download prompts.

There is a reg edit on MOL to extend your browser timeout when doing large backups, this would have the same effect.
Failing that I would reinstall Java

Basically IE 8 works as others can attest. There are a number of things you can check as shown above such as update java, install the security certificate, add 3300 as a trusted site, shut of windows fire wall, shut off any VPN firewall. default security settting and extend browser session. Hopefully one of these helps.

I'd tell you a UDP joke but I'm afraid you won't get it. TCP jokes are the best because you always get them.

Other than that, I always use AVANT borwser to do Mitel stuff. It's quicker and never has issues downloading backups or configurations.

AVANT browser?

does it work with Mitel stuff?

I'll give it a try as none of the recommedations give have worked, I was thinking reinstalling Windows.

Regards,

Daniel

I second Avant, it has worked where IE8 hasn't.

You could also try compatibility mode.

Guys,

I think it's time to reinstall Windows on my laptop. I have tried every suggested here and it still doesn't download backup file to my PC, eve with Avant Browser.

I have tried backing up using FTP and the file is transfered to the FTP server, however the browser keeps showing progress as if the backup is performing forever.

Regards,

Daniel

Hi Danramirez,

Just to let you know you are not the only one to have this problem, I have don all the above including trying to use Avant - and I too can't complete a backup onto my pc......

Gren1990,

well... I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one having this problem.

Sadly I had to restore windows on my PC in order to be able to get backups from the 3300s.

Hopefully one day we will be able to access to MCD from Mac or other O/Systems.

Regards,

Daniel

I have found that you need to create a folder on the root called 'Fakepath' e.g. C:\Fakepath when using IE8 on Win XP.
I have to add any import spreasheets to this folder otherwise the import fails. You could try backing up to this folder.
The MCD software does need to be more compatible with other browsers as everyone has a favourite.
