G'day,

When I downloaded FireFox Browswer it had no impact on my IE 7.0. If I download IE 8.0, will it uninstall my IE 7.0, or cause any other problems?

When you installed Firefox, it was a completely different browser; this is why it had no impact on your IE7. If you install IE8 Beta2, it will update your IE7 to IE8. There may be an option to uninstall IE8, but I', not sure as I haven't taken the plunge yet.

With any Beta program there will be a few glitches, IE8 is no different. It will update IE7 but give you the option to uninstall via Add or Remove in the Control Panel. My advice is to stick with your current browsers if you want trouble free surfing and wait for IE8 to be released in a non Beta state.

I don't want to sound patronising, but if you cannot tekll the difference between a Firefox and i.e install, stay well clear of i.e8 beta, it has a lot of functions that you may find cripples your surfing habits and causes many issues that you may regret.
To be honest, I'd wait a few months after go live, for them to sort out any issues that crop up.

Most people spend their time on the "urgent" rather than on the "important."

Um ... at what point does the OP indicate that they cannot tell the difference?

When I downloaded FireFox Browswer it had no impact on my IE 7.0.

One is a new, seperate, unrelated install, the other is replacement to a fundemental core component of Windows (as is every other i.e install)

Most people spend their time on the "urgent" rather than on the "important."

That does not indicate in any way that the OP does not know the difference between Firefox and IE installs.

On the contrary, the mere fact that they are asking the question that they have indicates - to me, at least - the opposite.

In answer to the that question: yes it will replace IE7 - unless you go the route of downloading the virtual PC version:
