Not long after XP Pro Service Pack 3 upgrade, I can't connect to certain websites, mainly Google, Ebay, & Answers.com. Mysteriously, I can connect to others...bank acct, Yahoo.com, and so forth. Also, the Safari browser exhibits the same behavior on same websites.

What I've tried thus far:
+ Purged the cache with ipconfig command
+ Using IE | Options, deleted all IE temp files, cookies, etc.
+ Reset IE settings back to default
+ Disabled add-ons one by one, then all of them
+ Enabled logging on the wireless router to build a history, hoping to see something
+ Connected the PC directly to the broadband modem, thus bypassing the router.
+ I can ping google.com from the command prompt

Any clues? Help is much appreciated :)

Thanks...I'll try the snapfiles fix.

As to ZoneAlarm, yes I used to use it, but removed it last year. I use WINXP Manager to clean things up periodically and would have thought the Registry Wizard would have caught any remnants of ZoneAlarm.

Currently, I use the standard IE firewall along with latest version of Symantec, with pretty much the recommended settings.

Wow, the snapfiles fix did the trick.
Thanks so much!!
