Simple question...anyone tried IE7 with Web Client 4.5 ?

More importantly does it work :).

Thanks

I was using it yesterday without any issues, however, I wasn't doing a full functionality test, just some admin and the guy who normally sits there had installed IE7 (our standard is IE6).

For using with CCMA: (about.blank is a security issue that will be fixed in an upcoming SU this spring)

you need to add the following to your Trusted Sites in IE ( under Internet options -- Security ) :

about:blank

Then Click on Custom Level for the Trusted Sites zone and do the following :

Under the ActiveX Controls and plug-ins heading, ensure that Enable is
selected for the following ActiveX Controls and plug-ins:

- Allow Scriptlets (applicable on Internet Explorer 7.0 only)
- Initialize and script ActiveX Controls not marked safe for scripting
- Run ActiveX Controls and plug-ins
- Script ActiveX Controls marked safe for scripting

Under the ActiveX Controls and plug-ins heading, ensure that Enable is
selected for Automatic prompting for ActiveX controls.
OR
Ensure that Enable is selected for Download signed ActiveX controls.

Under the Downloads heading, ensure that Enable is selected for the
following:
- Automatic prompting for file downloads
- File download

Under the Miscellaneous heading, ensure that Enable is selected for
Allow websites to open windows without address or status bars.

Then Under Internet Options -- go to Advanced
- Under Browsing, clear the Reuse windows for launching shortcuts
check box.

You should also go to Internet Options -- Privacy -- Pop-up Blocker -- Settings and add as an allowed site for popups

I believe a patch was released in December to support IE7 and Web Client/CCMA. Look on the Nortel PEP site.

Thanks everyone - I'll hopefully have more success today when I try.

Nortel made an exception to support IE7 on SWC 4.5. When I say exception, it's because SWC 4.5 is in sustained mode so they really weren't obligated to do so.

In order for your client PCs running IE7 to successfully access SWC 4.5, make sure you install SWC_4.5_SU07S and SWC_4.5_SUS0701S.

The patch to solve the IE7 compatibility issue has been released I believe it is su07
