It didn't happen until I applied IE6 SP1. I can't find any articles that would address this problem. The status bar message when this occurs lists "dat a binding..." just before it bombs.
Here's the error I get:

Microsoft Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

AppName: iexplore.exe AppVer: 6.0.2800.1106 ModName: msowc.dll
ModVer: 9.0.0.6621 Offset: 0013dd7c

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

As far as I know msowc.dll is a chart component distributed with microsoft office. If it is the cause of the problem (just because it is named doesn't mean it is), then extracting an older version from the office cabs might help.

Paul,
Thanks for the tip. I tried replacing my msowc.dll file with an older one from the office cabs and I still got the same results. Any other ideas?
Thanks!

Well my favourite answer at this point is to run the repair option for IE, let me know if you have already done this and I'll try and think of something else!

It might also help to look at the event viewer on the server running IIS and see if anything is reported there.
