ie 6 display issues

Awhile back, my internet explorer stopped displaying text and colors properly. I don't know why, either. I use WinXP home, and the browser works fine under other profiles on the system, just not the owner's. "View--Text Size--" does not fix the problem either. Heres a couple shots so you can get the idea of whats going wrong. Thanks for any help!

The same thing also occurs in windows media player. I've tried reinstalling IE, and repairing it, neither work.
 
Go to Tools, Internet Options, Settings, View Objects. Look at your Java Runtime Environment line(s). Look ok or status read damaged? If damaged, go to:
Download and reinstall (after using Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs to uninstall your old version) a new version of Java...
 
Hmm, I checked that out in two profiles (mine, and one where the browser is working properly) and they both read the same. No 'damaged' lines, everything says 'installed'.
