Running Windows XP, IE 6.0, don't know what happened, I open any e-mail account in the Browser, but when I click on a function I want to do, open, delete etc., the Broswer closes completely by itself. Is there a Repair Tool for IE 6.0?

G'day,
Ran the scan, it found 218 objects, 3 in memory at the start of the scan, the rest were cookies, mainly in FireFox. Just checked IE 6.0, Hotmail, same problem with my e-mail (hotmail)

Same problem, but seems to only be in Hotmail screens, I try to Tick open an email, IE closes

It only happens in Hotmail and only in IE 6.0, I tried other browsers, hotmail works fine

There's definately something strage going on. See if there's any improvement after doing this -> IE, Tools, Internet Options, Advanced tab, deselect 'Enable third party browser extensions', OK, restart the computer.

Your log is clean other than this.

O18 - Protocol: msnim - {828030A1-22C1-4009-854F-8E305202313F} - "C:\PROGRA~1\MSNMES~1\msgrapp.dll" (file missing)

Another thing, put your system disc in, close any windows it loads, go to command prompt and type sfc/scannow. When it finishes restart.

Going to have you do something else to see if i can spot something. Go to start, run, then type msconfig and hit enter. Click the startup tab and type out all items in there and only the items not the locations. post them on here.

G'day,

I don't have a system disc .... it's the same thing that was missing the first time you had me run Hijack ... then remove/re-install IE 6.0

Well I just looked up that file and it says hijackthis alot of times incorrectly shows it as missing and its legit lol. Anyways other than that im not finding anything wrong with your log. I would try finding someone that has a disc though and perform what I said as it might help.

By the way did you empty all your temp folders yet?

I reinstalled IE 6.0 again, keeping my fingers crossed, but so far it's working fine, again thatns mates for all the time and help.

n/p, but do that sfc whenever you can get ahold of a disc . As alot of times windows system files can get corrupted.

G'day,
After all the time you guys spent on me and my problem, I am bloody embarrased to ask for "help" again. With all my ant-virus, Fire Wall etc., running, I downloaded a music video, it was after that task that I noticed later in the day when I started my computer again, it was taking forever to load. Once loaded, I noticed that the "pointer" for my mouse was moving oddly, I tried to start checking my email through Incredimail, it received all incoming e-mails, after that was finished I was going to look at Zone Lab Fire Wall to see or read any alerts, then the computer froze, I tried to reach Task Manager by Ctrl, Alt Del, it was very slow opening, and when it did I "ticked" on "task manager" and it was like the Tab was froze, but after I waited a few minutes it finally opened. And I notice the Hard Drive "Busy" light stays on all the time, or seemingly always. May I trouble you for some advice again mates?

Yes this forum is made for helping people. We all like to help or we would not be on here lol. Anyways feel free to ask questions anytime.

Now to adress your problem. Go to start, run, then type msconfig and hit enter. Click the startup tab at the far right. Type out all the checked items on the list and only the items. Post them on here.

I hope this tells you something that will solve this, I have been up all night watching the ewido scanner scan the harddrive, it's only up to 46.2 % after 600 minutes.

Thank you guys so much, I am a disabled Combat Veteran, and I so depend on my computer to communicate with family, friends and support groups.

Thank you again.

G'day,
I posted the MSCONFIG items.

I don't know how I did it, but I got the computer to start in a different mode, not safe mode, but there were no programs other than the clock in the Task Bar Menu, I then started AVG Anti Virus, it is scanning now, and is doing so without "hanging" like it did previously. I will run ewido program after AVG finishes and see if it will scan without stopping every minute or two, I hope someone can read the msconfig items and point out a problem area, never thought I would want to find a problem in it. Thank you, again.

G'day,

AVG did not find any Virus. I am now running ewindo, and like AVG, it is running without any "freezing" or pauses,I am not sure what Mode I am in, but unlikemy previous attempt torun those programs, which stopped and started, and I let ewindo run all night, and it still had not finished when I woke up. It's 14 minutes into the scan and has identified 56 infected items(cookies I think). Thank you
