IE 6.0 Closing after Printing from Adobe

I am having problems with a unit that when you select a Adobe Document (PDF) click and bring up in 2nd window, I print the document close the 2nd window and then it hangs the 1st window and then closes it. Any ideas on what is going on. The unit is also using a pop up stopper.

Have you tried to replicate this behaviot with the pop-up stopper disabled?

Not yet but going to try that and see what happens. It just hit me after I sent the post to check with out the pop-up stopper loaded.

Shutdown the pop-up stopper program and still have same results. When I close the 2nd window it makes the 1st window stop responding and then XP kills the task.

What operating system are you using?

In 98/ME/XP you use msconfig to tshoot the issue.

Start/Run => Msconfig => OK

Then select selective startup, uncheck all the option, apply changes, reboot and test.

If NT/W2K, you may need to prevent 3rd parties programs from loading up at boot.

Delete all entries but default under HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnce
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnceEx

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnce
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnceEx

Also remove shorcuts from the starup folder.

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup
C:\Documents and Settings\xxx\Start Menu\Programs\Startup

where xxx is your user profile
